CHAIRMAN'S BIOGRAPHY
Professor Dr.-Ing. Nik Abdullah Nik Mohamed
Regat Unggul is honored to have Professor Dr.-Ing. Nik Abdullah Nik Mohamed as Chairman. He is currently a Visiting Professor at UCSI University and formerly served as Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP).
Prof. Nik Abdullah began his academic career at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1992 before joining UMP in 2013. He has also shared his expertise internationally as a visiting lecturer at Kyoto University, Japan, and the Mercator University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.
He has contributed to higher education governance as a member of the Board of Directors at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) and as an advisor to the TVET Empowerment Committee under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia.
His research focuses on continuum mechanics and the mechanical and thermodynamic properties of advanced materials, including smart materials, auxetic structures, and bulk metallic glasses. He is also active in mechanical vibration and reliability engineering.
Prof. Nik Abdullah has published more than 150 research papers, authored four book chapters, and written three books.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Applied Science Munich, Germany (1979), and earned his PhD (Dr.-Ing.) from the Technical University of Berlin in 1991, where he also served as a research and teaching associate (1985–1992).
